This register may be used to fill vacancies within the Immigration Group over the next 12 months** About our team Immigration | Various sections Immigration Group is responsible for administering Australia's Permanent and Temporary Migration Programs, people smuggling policy and implementation, and the Refugee and Humanitarian Program and Settlement Programs.
The Group delivers status resolution in detention and the community and manages the Department's client facing services and information services.
It also provides policy advice on national impacts of migration, citizenship, people mobility, and delivers citizenship, social cohesion and multicultural programs.
The Group also leads on implementing Government's proposed policy shifts needed to reform the migration system.

Duties and responsibilities Working as an APS4 officer within Immigration Group you would typically work across the following categories: Action and respond to customer enquires or requests Draft and review documents Assessment and decision making Research and correctly apply legislation Other enabling and supporting functions including administration duties.
