Permanent 1.0FTE Director Medical Services - Westmead Hospital - Staff Specialist or Medical Superintendent or Career Medical Officer (depending on qualifications)Western Sydney Local Health District – Westmead NSWPosition OverviewApplications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Western Sydney Local Health District. The position will be located at Westmead Hospital within the Westmead Executive.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and operational leadership within Westmead Hospital ensuring the delivery of relevant programs in a safe, quality, effective and efficient manner.Facilitate linkages across the Westmead hospital clinical, quality, workforce, allied health and nursing, representing clinical and medical issues to improve health service provision.Provide general medical administration and professional governance support to Network Clinical Directors, Westmead Medical Advisors and Heads of Departments.Minimum RequirementsFellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award, and/or working towards FRACMA and/or other postgraduate qualifications that are appropriate and pertinent to the function of the role.Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable).Successful applicants may be offered a conjoint university appointment within the Faculty of Medicine at the relevant University attached to each facility. The level of academic appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and scholarship and will be held only during the tenure of the Western Sydney Local Health District appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment.
