Perisher Ski Patrollers play a crucial role as first responders, offering immediate first aid assistance and facilitating the transportation of injured individuals.
In addition to providing essential medical support, you will actively contribute to the implementation of safety measures aimed at ensuring the well-being of both visitors and employees within the resort boundaries.
This involves active participation in lift evacuation training and Skitube exercises, ensuring preparedness to respond effectively to any emergency situation that may arise.

Successful applicants will be required to complete the Perisher Resort Alpine Rescue course which is conducted pre-season in May.
Overseas applicants will complete training in June.

In a typical day in this role, you might:
Offer comprehensive first aid assistance, ranging from immediate response to minor injuries (e.g., cuts, sprains, and strains) to managing casualties with major trauma, including life-threatening injuries, ensuring the well-being of guests.
Utilize various transportation methods, such as Akja, Cascade/sled, gurney via Skitube, oversnow, or wheeled vehicles, to transfer injured guests to Perisher Valley Medical Centre efficiently.
Conduct surveillance and monitoring to maintain slope safety, assessing skier/snowboarder densities, traffic flows, snow surfaces, and weather conditions for potential changes.
Ensure the safety of ski runs, promptly notifying Dispatch of closures and other pertinent information.
Clearly mark hazards and close potentially dangerous areas (e.g., due to insufficient snow).
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Previous experience as a ski patroller (minimum of two seasons).
An advanced skiing ability (snowboarders will not be considered).
Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to use a two-way radio effectively, are essential.
A strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to scheduled work.
An enthusiastic, friendly, patient, and helpful attitude is highly valued in this role.
A current NSW Working with Children clearance check (overseas applicants can obtain this on arrival).

Important: This is an early application process for some seasonal roles that will start from June 2025.
Offers for these positions will begin to be sent out from February.
A variety of additional resort roles will be advertised in February 2025.

Employment start dates will vary depending on the role and snow conditions, but most roles start in June and finish in late September.
