Perinatal Mental Health NavigatorSupport expectant and new parents with specialist services, ensuring timely support and promoting mental health awareness & intervention$84,159+ super + not for profit salary packaging benefitsPermanent Part Time Contract – a 9 day fortnight for real work/life balanceLocation: Darwin NT 0800Make a meaningful difference to the lives of Australians in needYour OpportunityThis role focuses on identifying and connecting parents to appropriate services across the Northern Territory, improving early intervention and prevention of mental health issues.You will manage referrals and conduct telephone intake and assessment, ensuring timely support for individuals, while maintaining accurate records.
Collaboration with healthcare providers and community organisations will be key to strengthening referral pathways and ensuring services are inclusive and accessible.
Additionally, you will deliver training and awareness programs to promote mental health, reduce stigma, and improve service delivery.By coordinating perinatal mental health services, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of families during this critical life stage.Your Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and action all calls from the help line from referrers, individuals and families seeking supportCoordinate intake, screening and mental health assessment to direct parents and families to relevant local servicesSupport participants to navigate the complex perinatal and infant mental health serviceDevelop a plan with parents and families to meet immediate and long-term needsProvide in person support within the Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals one day per weekEnsure case notes are accurate and kept up to dateRequirements for SuccessProfessional qualification in nursing, midwifery, or allied health, psychology with a minimum 3 years clinical experience in a relevant areaCurrent Registration with AHPRA (Nursing, OT, Psychologist) or eligibility with the peak professional association (Social Workers)Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities – previous experience working within remote or regional groups would be beneficialPrevious perinatal and infant mental health experienceAccomplished in working with clients with complex issues and needsIn-depth understanding of how social factors affect the health and well-being of infants, children, and familiesKnowledge of parenting, family dynamics, child development, including attachment theory and trauma-informed care approachesExceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and build rapport with a range of peopleCurrent open driver licence with no restrictionsBefore starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.Your BenefitsRewarding work – every day you know you're making a real differenceNot-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your taxFree external, confidential counselling and access to chaplaincy supportVolunteering opportunitiesExtra leave available including an additional public holiday, additional annual leave day on your work anniversary and the opportunity to purchase further annual leave.How To ApplyTo be considered for this opportunity, click 'apply' and send your application today!As a committed Circle Back Initiative employer, we will respond to your application.Applications for this role are shortlisted as received and we are interviewing through the advertising period.Apply quickly to be considered for this important and community essential role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
