MZ Mining is a mineral sands mining company focused on the production of heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) in the Murray Basin in South Australia. The Company's principal asset is the Mindarie Mineral Sands Project located 150km east of Adelaide in the Mallee region of South Australia with a Head Office in Adelaide. MZ Mining has now commenced production. This role, based in the Adelaide Head Office, and reporting to the Financial Controller, provides the opportunity to be part of the Finance team in this exciting project. About the Role: The Performance Analyst is a key role to support the evidential management of MZ costs and provide key reporting. The primary function is to support the financial team to audit and maintain performance of contracts. The Performance Analyst works closely with the Commercial and Operational teams to ensure positive performance on contracts, and accuracy of cost implications. This role also supports the adherence to budget and cash management through the analysis and reporting of cost and cash planning activities. Duties Include: Commercial Contracts Maintain and improve systems and processes to support the management and performance of all major contracts for MZ in collaboration with Commercial Manager. Maintain and improve systems and processes for the performance management of services contracts for MZ. Provide analytical and financial modelling support to assist commercial planning and review processes. Provide internal control support to assist the governance of commercial functions. Review purchase requests against approved budget to ensure budget monitoring is in place. Complete monthly cash call process including analysis of contractual, or procurement commitments forecast. Establish and manage project costing for all identified projects including major shuts, and asset improvement activities (project cost control). Support the Financial Controller through analysis and reporting as required by MZ consolidated group reporting. Complete adhoc and planned analysis of business costs as required by internal and external stakeholders. Provide quality informative reporting of findings from all analysis undertaken. Reporting Complete daily and weekly reporting requirements, including continuous improvement of reporting processes. Provide back-up support for EOM, EOY and other critical reporting requirements. Governance functions Adhere to requirements of the internal control framework. Ensure compliance with government regulations, and other legislation. You will have: A Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. 5+ years of business finance or other relevant experience. Proficiency in financial modelling techniques. Proficiency in Excel formulas and functions Demonstrated strong analytical and data gathering skills. Good business acumen. Mining or relevant industry experience is an advantage. Mandarin speaking is an advantage. Experience working with and presenting to senior executives. Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.
