Job DescriptionAs well as playing a crucial role in Corporate Services as part of the People & Culture team, the People & Safety Officer is integral to our five key program areas:

This isn't your typical Occupational Health & Safety role; it combines your passion for community service with your OHS knowledge in a rewarding and fulfilling role.
Expected commencing salary of $87,675.81 per annum plus statutory superannuation.

Desired Skills and ExperienceEssential role-specific skills, knowledge and experience Demonstrated experience in a similar role.Demonstrated skills in the application of safety practices including hazard and risk management, incident investigation audits, and the development and implementation of safety management processes, procedures, and templates.Knowledge and understanding of relevant OHS legislation and regulations.Excellent people engagement and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels to provide safety- and wellbeing-related recommendations and directives.Strong organisational skills and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail.A personable approach and strong work ethic with motivation to work in challenging environments.Proven experience in workers' compensation claims management, including claims relating to occupational violence and aggression.Highly desirable role-specific skills, knowledge and experience Relevant qualification in Administration, Occupational Health & Safety or other relevant tertiary studies or relevant experience.Experience in a not for profit / charitable organisation.Experience in the development and implementation of safety and wellbeing programs and initiatives.Applications that do not address the Key Selection Criteria in the position description may not be considered.
