GEGAC is seeking a People Relations Support Officer to work closely with the People Relations team, service delivery Executives, Managers and other key internal and external stakeholders.
The People Relations Support Officer will be responsible for rehabilitation and case management of injured/ill workers, undertake all return to work matters, assist in providing advice and support of workplace grievances and HR reporting.

Organisational Profile GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based on Gunaikurnai Country in Bairnsdale, Victoria.
Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not for Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC is a child safe agency and has a zero tolerance of abuse or neglect of children and young people.
Position Purpose The People Relations Support Officer will work across all areas of GEGAC.
The position will work closely with the People Relations team, service delivery Executives, Managers and other key internal and external stakeholders; the objective of this position is to actively contribute to an effective, efficient, responsive and high-quality human resources management system.
Specifically, areas include but are not limited to:
Responsible for rehabilitation and case management of injured/ill workers. Undertake all Return-to-Work matters. Assisting in providing advice and support of workplace grievances. Supporting the People Relations team. Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated capability to meet the key responsibilities of this position. Clear ability to undertake research, analyse and comprehend reasonably complex documents, write reports, and undertake a variety of administrative processes. Current knowledge of Workers Compensation claims management and demonstrated return to work management experience. Strong oral and written communication skills including proven skills in relationship building. Demonstrated experience in handling and responding to sensitive incidents and conflict management. Demonstrated high level computer competence particularly in MS Word, Excel and Access. A team orientated person who has a passion for working within an Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander environment. A person who can communicate at all levels with clarity and purpose.
An ability to negotiate and persuade a variety of stakeholders. Awareness and recognition of Aboriginal culture. A committed worker who can demonstrate a history of success. The ability to work autonomously when necessary and well within a team. Demonstrated attributes of leadership, teamwork and the ability to work independently. Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable) Qualifications in WHS, HR &/or related field.
