Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced People and Culture Advisor to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in our mission to provide the best possible educational experience for our staff and students.
About TGS TGS was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS).
It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12.
There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
The School's campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

About the Position As a People and Culture Advisor at TGS, you will be at the heart of shaping our organisational culture and supporting our staff throughout their journey with us.
Your role is multifaceted and central to our success, encompassing key responsibilities such as Recruitment, Performance Management, Learning and Development, and Employee Wellbeing.
By providing expert guidance and operational support, you will help us maintain compliance, inform decision-making, and align our human resources practices with our strategic objectives.
The role requires strong generalist experience managing end-to-end employee lifecycle process including managing recruitment processes, conducting pre-employment checks and generating contracts and supporting staff through their induction and probation processes.
About You Reporting to the Director of People & Culture we are looking for someone to join our fun, collaborative and fast paced team at TGS.
To hit the ground running, you will have a Cert IV in Human Resources and/or relevant knowledge and demonstrated experience in recruitment, training, and/or generalist Human Resources services, experience with HRIS implementation and use will be highly regarded.
Prior experience in a school environment is highly valued, as is familiarity with managing traineeships and apprenticeships, Workcover, and return-to-work processes.
To achieve success in this role you will be highly organised, have exceptional interpersonal skills, high attention to detail and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Your expert communication skills will see you collaborate, foster and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Selection Criteria: To shine in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate: Demonstrated experience providing support to leaders and staff within an educational setting or a comparable environment.
Comprehensive understanding of Fair Work guidelines and HR legislation, with the ability to interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements effectively.
Proven experience in coordinating and managing traineeship and apprenticeship programs.
Knowledge and practical application of Workcover requirements and return-to-work procedures.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, enabling efficient management of multiple projects.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, complemented by the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
A genuine enthusiasm for developing and refining systems to improve processes.
Familiarity with HRIS platforms (preferred).
A demonstrated commitment to continuous personal and professional growth.
