About Synapse: Synapse is Australia's voice of brain injury. We use our voice to create awareness, education, support, and advocate for people living with brain injury. We know that the lack of pathways for people living with brain injury can increase vulnerabilities and may limit choices and self-determination.
The impact of brain injury often causes or amplifies difficulties with mental health, lack of housing, connection with the justice system, family and domestic violence, and limited employment opportunities. Synapse's work addresses these underlying issues through knowledge and training, community engagement and tailored informational tools.
About the role: This is a role for someone whose values align with this mission and purpose, and who is driven to make an impact for those impacted by brain injury. As a member of the leadership team, the purpose of this role is to engage, educate and inspire the various stakeholder groups and audiences that Synapse works with, and assist in the development of relationships that secure achievement of the strategic objectives that underpin their mission.
Managing a team and reporting directly to the National Director of Strategy and Engagement, this role will strengthen the People Capability function by providing collaborative operational and strategic human resources support across the employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide advice on a diverse range of people-management issues including, but not limited to, engagement and retention, learning and development, remuneration and benefits, compliance and performance management. Actively promote and support new ways of working and continuous improvement within HR to provide a high quality, professional, consistent, and cohesive service. You are a collaborative and communicative HR professional looking for a hands-on role where you can drive positive change for both employees and clients.
Your skills, experience and background include:
Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience in conjunction with qualifications in Human Resources.
