The Role: The People and Culture Manager plays a critical role in fostering a positive organisational culture and ensuring effective and best practice People and Culture practices within a not-for-profit organisation. This position is responsible for developing and implementing People and Culture strategies that align with the organisation's mission, vision, and values, while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Working collaboratively with Saltbush management and teams to build a strong, accountable and supportive culture, the People and Culture Manager is responsible for the delivery of high quality, professional and sound advice to managers on all aspects of the employee life cycle to support effective business operations.
Reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities will include overseeing a wide range of people and culture functions ranging from talent acquisition, employment engagement and culture, employee/industrial relations, and compliance to developing strategic partnerships and fostering a healthy, inclusive workplace culture. You will lead initiatives that support organisational development, workforce planning, workplace health and safety, and risk management while championing Saltbush's core values of integrity, fearlessness, action, quality, teamwork and impact.
What You Bring: Tertiary education or comparable qualifications (Business/HR or similar).Proven experience (at least five years) in a senior generalist People and Culture management role, preferable within the not-for-profit sector.Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organisation.Expertise in HR strategy, employee relations, safety leadership, and industrial relations.High levels of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality.Ability to operate strategically with superior problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate successful outcomes in potentially challenging circumstances.Demonstrated ability to engage and work collaboratively in a culturally diverse business environment.Passionate about the mission of the organisation and the not-for-profit sector.Demonstrated competence in the use of HRIS software, preferably Employment Hero.Why You'll Love It Here: Community Impact: Be part of a team that makes real change, helping our people find their way to stable, fulfilling work.
