The SEC is building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria's transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria's renewable energy target of 95% by 2035. We are working together for renewable, affordable, reliable energy for all Victorians.

Your role
As a People and Culture Business Partner, you will be an operations and strategic partner to the organisation, responsible for providing expert advice and guidance in all areas of the employee lifecycle. You will collaborate with leaders to drive initiatives that align with business goals, enhance employee engagement, and foster a positive workplace culture. Your responsibilities will include advising on talent management, performance development, and organizational effectiveness, as well as supporting HR programs and ensuring compliance to drive continuous improvement.

This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.

What you will do: Operational and strategic partner to the organisation, responsible for providing expert advice and guidance in all areas of the employee lifecycle;Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and department heads on all P&C-related matters across the employee lifecycle, escalating to the appropriate SME as required;Design and implement operational People & Culture processes aligned to best practice, compliance and organisational objectives.Must Have:
Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:
Provide expert guidance and support to all levels of the workforce on People & Culture processes, policies, regulations, and legislation.Coach and mentor managers and supervisors on P&C best practices, performance management, and employee relations, fostering leadership development.Design and implement employee engagement initiatives, including recognition, DEIB, wellbeing programs, and feedback mechanisms, to promote a positive workplace culture.Develop and implement performance, development, and reward frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address P&C-related challenges, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support recruitment, talent management, and workforce planning.Highly Desirable: Proven experience in HR roles, with expertise in generalist HR functions, coaching, change management, IR, WH&S, L&D, and employee engagement; proficiency in using TechnologyOne (HR modules) as a system admin or user.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly; demonstrated success working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, preferably within the public sector or large-scale organizations. This includes an initial $1 billion towards delivering 4.5 gigawatts of power through renewable energy and storage projects – the equivalent replacement capacity of coal-fired power station Loy Yang A, which is set to close in 2035.

The SEC will also play an important role in helping Victorian households to reduce their energy bills and emissions by offering simple and effective solutions to help them switch to electric.
