About us Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with 30 years' industry experience in Australia and New Zealand.
We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors.
Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
About the opportunity Abergeldie is looking for a talented and experienced People and Capability Advisor to join our growing team.
This role is based in our office in Tullamarine on a initial 12-month contract (with view to extend and potential for permanency).
This is a true generalist role where you will be hands on across all aspects of HR.
Day to day you will;
Partner with leaders to provide support and advice on all HR-related matters.Support managers in handling employee relations issues, including managing grievances, resolving conflicts, and conducting workplace investigations.Conduct regular site visits to build strong relationships, understand team needs, and proactively address HR queries or concerns.Manage employee lifecycle events such as probation reviews, promotions, and exits.Support managers in implementing effective performance management practices, including coaching on goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.Prepare employment contracts and manage onboarding processes ensuring a seamless experience for new hires.This opportunity has arisen due to significant growth and our recent success in securing several large 10 year + framework contracts, including partnerships with South East Water on the Integrated Capital Works Planning and Delivery program and the Yarra Valley Water's Delivery Reliability Program.
What you'll bring to the team: Experience in a People and Capability Advisor, preferably within the construction or infrastructure industry.Strong understanding of Australian employment law and best practices.Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to provide sound advice on complex HR matters.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.A proactive approach and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Why you should work with us Our people are what make Abergeldie successful, and we make sure that this is the kind of place where great people enjoy working for the long term.
