About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, resilient Peer Practitioner based at the Peel Active Recovery Team (ART) in Mandurah.
You will use your lived/living experience of mental health challenges to provide intensive, person-centred, recovery-oriented support to clients, helping them achieve their wellbeing goals, build capacity and daily living skills, strengthen social connections, enhance community networks, and grow confidence to live independently.
Key Responsibilities: Draw on the broader Lived Experience knowledge base to inform your practice.Support people to return to their community, live independently and pursue a meaningful life using the Intentional Peer Support approach.Deliver high-quality services to respond to the unique needs of the service users, offering a flexible and person-centred approach.Provide resources and support to service users to foster positive relationships with those important to them, create community networks and access to relevant services.Plan and deliver group programs that develop skills and focus on recovery goals.Participate actively in team, case and handover meetings through a lived experience and peer lens.What You'll Bring: Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced Training, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, is desirable but not required.Previous experience in using lived experience and expertise in a dedicated Peer role is strongly desirable.Experience, expertise and/or desire to work directly with people with mental health issues, as well as their families and carers.Experience or ability to acquire skills in understanding needs and working collaboratively to plan wellbeing supports using evidence-informed approaches and tools.Benefits: Salary packaging up to $15,899 p.a.
