We are currently seeking applications for an experienced Production Coordinator to join our growing team in our Alexandria Studio, full time.
The Production Coordinator's role is to support the Production team to establish and facilitate the production flow within the business according to seasonal critical paths, to ensure on time delivery of products to the highest standard.
With a minimum of 2 years' experience working within a premium/fashion brand (or other relevant experience) in a Production based role, you will demonstrate a passion for and have a sound understanding of fashion. You will be confident in building relationships with suppliers globally and have a driving willingness to learn.
Strong communication skills are a key requirement at an internal and external level, and strong organisational skills are a must. The role requires a current driver's license as well as strong computer skills in Excel, Word, Google Drive, with the ability to learn other internal software systems.
Key Responsibilities Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure seasonal timelines are maintained. Assist with the approvals of bulk production fabrics linings and trims, following approved standards set by Design Department. Assist with updating and maintaining seasonal production department trackers and story boards for weekly team WIP meetings. Complete QC of shippers, pre- and top- production samples for offshore manufacturers, ensuring that findings are recorded and filed, and approved samples are stored accordingly for future reference. Actively participate in weekly production meetings and report back to cross functional team members as required, update WIP notes as required. Liaise with freight forwarders/logistics on all incoming bulk fabric and trim orders. Prepare cut sheets and input production orders in company ERP system. Receive, cross check and file all production invoices for payment. Receive and review supplier invoices against purchase orders and liaise with Production Manager to resolve any discrepancies. Liaise effectively and proactively with local and offshore suppliers daily, resolve queries and always demonstrate commercial acumen and professionalism. Provide hands on support to the team and Production Manager on production requirements, including Quality Control processes. Assist in measuring samples throughout production process at various stages, taking note of any discrepancies or concerns against specs. Attend production related fit sessions when required and following up on any required actions. Work alongside Production Manager to develop targets in relation to production processes. Work with the suppliers to resolve any production or quality issues during the production process under the guidance of the Production Manager. Maintain surplus fabric, trim and accessory stock records (both locally and offshore) seasonally. Assist with raising trim orders and packing trims for local and offshore production of RTW and swimwear orders. Deliveries and collections of garments from local production partners as required. Ad hoc duties as required by management. Key Attributes / Requirements Strong personal presentation and grooming standards. Strong work ethic and enthusiasm to assist in any area required, with a willingness to learn and apply yourself to any situation. Understanding of pattern making and strong swimwear and RTW garment construction and fabrication knowledge. Extremely organised with high accuracy and strong attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced environment. Efficient time management skills and the ability to multi-task and operate under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain solid relationships with both internal and external suppliers and stakeholders, with a focus on delivering product of the highest quality. Disciplined and able to work independently and work well with internal teams. Strong belief in sustainable and ethical business practices with the conviction and desire to ensure this filters through all areas of the business. Ability to anticipate issues and ability to take initiative in problem-solving. Strong skills in Excel, Word, Google Drive, with ability to learn various internal software systems. Physically fit and strong for movement and lifting of garments and cartons within the warehouse as production orders are received. Longer hours will be required during busier times.
