Peabody Energy | Tax Analyst

We are currently seeking to appoint a Tax Analyst within our corporate office located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.
This role will report directly to the Senior Manager Tax Compliance and will support the tax function by undertaking various Australian Tax Compliance, Reporting, Administration, and Planning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Support/assist with accurate preparation and timely lodging of returns (income tax, indirect taxes, employment taxes, and royalties, etc.)
and other lodgements as required, including transaction analysis and workpapers for assigned tasks/entities.
Prepare tax workings and disclosure notes for Australian statutory financial statements.
Prepare monthly and quarterly tax provision calculations.
Support/assist tax review of business processes including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, leasing arrangements, and tax fixed asset management.
Support the tax function as needed on ad hoc duties, projects, etc.

About you:
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Tax.
Experience in corporate tax (1 to 2 years' experience preferred).
Exposure to the mining industry or a large, global, or regional corporate tax environment is advantageous.
Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
Experience with SAP is desirable.
Results-oriented with proven problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels throughout the company.
Upbeat demeanour and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities.
