About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Open Cut Examiner / Mining Supervisor at our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets. We have a predominately CAT fleet, with haul roads kept LV free with demarcated roads .
Reporting to 2 highly experienced Production Superintendents (back to back), this role will be responsible for all day to day mine activities in compliance with all relevant statutes by providing leadership to achieve safe and effective production. This is to be achieved through managing the production functions in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This position is suited to an individual looking to progress their mining career. We have continual career progression opportunities and exposure to truck/shovel (digger), dozer push and cast blast in a fast-paced low strip ratio 4:1 open cut mining environment.
This low strip ratio and multiple seam opportunities suits those who enjoy the challenge of achieving safe production in an evermoving landscape.

Duties will include:
Fulfil the statutory requirements for an Open Cut Examiner including inspections and reporting; Comply with Wilpinjong policies and procedures; Set and demonstrate a proactive approach to health, safety and environmental standards and ensure a safe working environment is maintained; Demonstrate safe behaviours and provide visible safe leadership to team members; Ensure that risk management tools and relevant procedures are in place when planning and executing work; Effective utilisation of shift personnel and equipment resources to achieve the mine plan and production targets; Conduct mining operations in an environmentally responsible manner; Responsible for supervision of all contractors that are operating in mining areas; Ensure all personnel on site are trained and competent for the duties assigned; Identify training requirements within crew and facilitate multi skilled crews; Conduct monthly safety meetings with production operators; Be an active participant in the continuous improvement program; Liaise with Maintenance, Technical and other Support Services to establish Production priorities and ensure operations requirements and targets are incorporated into Production design and schedules. About you:
The successful candidate will hold an OCE qualification and current practicing certificate . Leadership experience in an open cut mining production environment is essential.
You will also need:
Demonstrated experience supervising a large workforce to positive effect in an open cut mining environment; Valid NSW Drivers license; Strong interpersonal communication skills; Strong commitment to safety as a way of life.
