We are currently seeking to expand our mobile maintenance high voltage (HV) electrical team at our Wilpinjong mine. Located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, the mine produces high quality thermal coal for both the export and domestic markets.
Mining is undertaken using a dozer, truck and excavator fleet which includes Cat/Terex MT4400 & CAT 789, 793, 785 trucks; Liebherr 9350, 9400 and CAT 6060 excavators; CAT 16M & 14M graders & CAT D10 and D11 dozers.
We welcome applications from both experienced HV Electricians and those new to the industry who are eager to learn and grow with us. With four lifestyle roster crews, each led by dedicated and highly experienced supervisors and leading hands (often promoted internally), we ensure that our tradespeople have the essential resources, tools, and support needed to perform their work efficiently. Our team of HV Electricians complete planned and unplanned maintenance and repair of Peabody mining equipment. These teams are generally split into workshop or field-based sections.
The Role: We require a High Voltage Electrician with experience, or the desire to obtain experience, on mobile fleet maintenance to undertake inspection, servicing, diagnostic, fault finding and defect elimination and repairs of mobile equipment and electrical infrastructure.
It is essential that you have a proficiency certificate in an electrical trade or equivalent qualification with previous experience working as a HV electrician.
The lifestyle: This position is offered on a family-friendly rotating panel 5/4 even time roster with a mix of days and nights, which really lets you take advantage of a residential lifestyle in the nearby Mudgee district.
Our roster allows you to have time with friends and family, enjoying the region or getting away, with only a 3 hour drive to Sydney or the coast.
About you: Previous experience as a HV Electrician on heavy earth-moving equipment is preferred, but we also encourage new-to-industry electricians to apply. Have experience within mining maintenance or with large mobile fleet, on mobile equipment such as CAT / Terex MT4400 electric drive trucks High Voltage switching competencies PLC and SCADA Control system experience Current LVR/CPR competency Ability to read and interpret Electrical Schematics Knowledge of conducting safety inspections and completing JSEAs, risk assessments and permits Experience with defect inspections, SAP work management systems A strong commitment to workplace safety procedures and disciplines Drivers licence (manual and HR preferred) Able to maintain a high standard of housekeeping A commitment to be an effective team player, including a positive attitude towards work and beneficial change and a Continuous Improvement commitment Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail Full Australian Working Rights.
