About the role:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer at our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets. We have a mine life currently in the 2030s and are exploring options and designs to expand that for another decade. The scope of this role is to ensure reliable equipment and work management practices that align with production targets and output.
Your principle responsibilities will include:
Identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives achieved by thought out stakeholder engagement. Maintenance of best-in-class equipment life and reduction of maintenance spend. Maximise equipment reliability through root cause analysis of delays and component failure, focusing on mechanical systems and components. Develop and implement strategies to achieve reliability and availability levels of all mining plant and equipment, with a particular emphasis on mechanical integrity and performance. Lead the Peabody warranty management program and facilitate warranty claims and parts reliability for engineering, including Mobile, CHPP, and Open Cut assets, ensuring mechanical components meet quality standards. Identify and implement continuous improvement strategies targeting safety, reliability, and cost-saving, specifically in mechanical systems and processes. Ensure equipment meets reliability expectations in line with business requirements, with a focus on mechanical performance and durability. Identify and develop training systems to improve technician repair quality, emphasizing mechanical troubleshooting and repair techniques. Ensure business processes and controls are followed in accordance with established procedures, particularly those related to mechanical maintenance and operations. Monitor ongoing compliance with budgets for each area or process and take actions as required for compliance and to meet forecasts, with attention to mechanical maintenance costs. Demonstrate proactive safe leadership to all employees and contractors by utilizing safety tools as required, especially in mechanical operations. Constantly drive a performance culture by holding people accountable, particularly in the mechanical maintenance team. The lifestyle:

About you:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Reliability engineering certificate of competence (Preferred, not essential) S1, S2, S3 competencies Experience in planning and execution techniques Proven ability to interpret technical reports Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing abilities
