About the Role:
As Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for managing our end-to-end payroll function, ensuring every pay cycle runs smoothly, accurately, and in full compliance with Australian labour laws. Your expertise in labour hire would be advantageous as you navigate award rates, varied payroll structures, and industry-specific requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high-performing team while making an impact on process improvement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Process high-volume, multi-state payroll accurately and on timeInterpret awards, enterprise agreements, and employment contracts to apply correct pay rates, entitlements, and deductionsEnsure full compliance with Australian labour laws, Fair Work guidelines, and tax requirementsLeverage your labour hire expertise, if applicable, to manage client billing, casual labour payments, and award rates effectivelyProvide support to employees for payroll inquiries, resolving issues promptlyGenerate payroll reports, analyse trends, and offer insights to managementDrive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline payroll processes and enhance accuracyManage our offshore support teamWhat We're Looking For: Experience: At least 3 years in payroll management, ideally in the labour hire or recruitment industryTechnical Skills: Skilled in payroll software (e.g., Xero, FoundU would be amazing) and Excel; experience with scheduling or rostering software is an advantage.Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Australian labour laws, tax regulations, and award interpretation specific to labour hireSkills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical abilities, and the capability to handle high-volume payroll in a fast-paced settingCommunication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage employee inquiries and work collaboratively with internal teamsWhat's in It for You?
