The role

As a Payroll Manager at Retinue, you will be leading and growing a team responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse client base.
Leveraging your extensive experience in payroll processing, you will support our team to ensure that our clients' payroll operations are efficient, accurate, and compliant with tax legislation.
Our Payroll team are not responsible for calculating employee hours, rates of pay or entitlements, which we consider to be employment relations work and outside the scope of our payroll processing service.
We are however responsible for helping our clients make payroll processing less of a burden and making sense of complex ATO/tax obligations.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership of our payroll team, ensuring that payroll processing for our clients is completed on time, is accurate, and hassle-free.
Ensure compliance with tax legislation and reporting requirements of different states and territories.
Oversee superannuation reconciliations and lodgements.
Ensure the team are accurately reporting, managing and lodging payroll information through the Single Touch Payroll system.
Resolve escalated payroll issues and queries, collaborating with clients, internal stakeholders, and external authorities when necessary.
Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation that may impact payroll processing.
Provide supervision to junior team members, including offshore team members, to help foster their professional growth and development.
Oversee year-end payroll activities and reconciliations.

Requirements

Strong experience leading a payroll team in either a high volume, complex organisation or within a public practice.
Experience in providing ongoing development and training to members of a payroll team.
Xero payroll software experience is essential; experience using MYOB highly advantageous.
In-depth knowledge of tax legislation to the extent it relates to payroll processing.
Ability to manage multiple client priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary

$100,000-120,000 pa + super Our Commitment
