About the roleAs the Payroll Systems Administrator, you will provide general advice and guidance to management and staff in the development and implementation of People & Culture (P&C) Systems.
Develop, initiate and implement systems ensuring that terms of reference, specifications and targets are met.
Participate in the project planning and development of the integration of the P&C systems across the business.
To do this you will:• Adhere to the procedures, processes and time constraints that occur within a payroll system• Administer the development and coordination of all People & Culture systems training for staff at Head Office and in the Depots (as required)• Appraise requirements and make recommendations in respect to work methods and techniques• Assist in maintaining the integrated P&C system and that it is aligned to statutory and Agreement requirements including the management and maintenance of all pay elements, applications, allowance codes, termination codes and leave categories on a regular basis to ensure that all employees are paid correctly and on time• Assist in the development and implementation of any project planning and delivery of system integration• Assist with the development, planning and implementation of the integration of payroll projects and represent the organisation on payroll project critical work• Interpret relevant Awards, manuals, directives and policy requirements to ensure correct payment of employees and the system updating of employee Masterfile details• Organise and manipulate data that can be extracted for statistical analysis monitoring mechanisms and reports output• Participate in an internal and external audit process and advise on audit requirements• Participate in MTM's continuous improvement systems and processes• Translate business requirements into business processes and measurement.
About YouYou will be a highly effective communicator (strong written and verbal skills) with demonstrated relevant experience in administration of payroll, HR and related information systems processing.
In addition, you will need to demonstrate the following:• Proficiency with various Microsoft applications, with advanced Excel skills• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial awards, industrial relations and WorkCover policies• Experience in analysing and interpreting Union Collective and industry related agreements, with the ability to translate into timekeeping / system practices• Experience in developing payroll / HR reports• Knowledge of policies and practices that specifically relate to employment conditions and employee leave administration• Strong technical ability and knowledge of HR systems administration with extensive experience working with HR systems• Ability to identify customer specifications and requirements• Ability to manage, use and maintain administrative systems• Well-developed analytical skills and strong numerical competence• Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to.
