Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team, based in the vibrant city of Melbourne. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional employee-centric payroll duties to multiple business entities, ensuring compliant, accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages. This role requires a high level of confidentiality and adherence to Company Policies, Procedures, Awards and Enterprise Agreements, Service Level Agreements and State and Federal legislation.
What you'll do: As a Payroll Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth running of all payroll functions. You will process payroll, manage leave requests, onboard new starters, handle terminations, maintain employee records and respond to payroll queries. Your attention to detail, ability to prioritise tasks and commitment to meeting strict deadlines will be key to your success in this role with a potential to manage staff.
Processing fortnightly payroll and associated activities including salary disbursementsManaging leave requests and maintaining accurate recordsOnboarding new starters and managing terminations with sensitivity and professionalismMaintaining comprehensive employee records with utmost confidentialityResponding to payroll queries promptly and accuratelyWhat you bring: The ideal candidate for the Payroll Specialist role brings a wealth of experience in payroll, with at least 3-5 years under their belt. Demonstrating competence in multiple payroll systems and has experience using rostering packages. Your understanding of legislative requirements ensures compliance at all times. Possessing strong administrative skills with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills enabling to respond to queries promptly and accurately. Experience in high volume payroll services is testament to their ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
• A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in payroll
• Demonstrated competence in multiple payroll systems
• Experience in using rostering packages would be advantageous
• Understanding of Legislative requirements
• Administrative skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in high volume payroll services
