Payroll Specialist

Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional with a knack for accuracy and efficiency? We're looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team and work closely with our Payroll Manager. In this role, you'll ensure the accurate and timely distribution of wages and salaries for our payroll client groups, manage various payroll processes, and provide top-notch service to our internal clients. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Processing: Handle end-to-end payroll for your portfolio, including termination payments and superannuation. Record Keeping: Maintain pay records, timekeeping data, leave records, and related information. Financial Transactions: Ensure timely authorization of all payroll-related bank transactions and prepare payroll tax/workcover requirements. Reporting: Complete end-of-month reporting tasks and other payroll-related duties as needed. Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve payroll processes within your client group. Project Support: Assist with team projects and ensure audit needs are met. Technical Knowledge and Client Management: Client Queries: Respond promptly to payroll and superannuation queries from internal clients. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. System Monitoring: Monitor, review, and improve existing systems and best practices. Legislation Updates: Stay proactive in gaining up-to-date information on current and forthcoming payroll-related legislation. Education and Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in a medium/large corporate or professional services environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities. Flexibility to respond to changing work requirements and peak periods. Effective time management and ability to handle competing tasks. Solid computer literacy, including intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel. Experience with chris21 is a plus, but not essential. Strong command of payroll systems, including configuration.
