Payroll Officer - Income Protection & Workers Comp | NSW State Government$45-$51 per hour + Super | 35 hours per weekASAP Start | Estimated 3 month assignment, with the potential to extend About the Company Our large NSW State Government client functions to reduce violence, crime, and fear throughout the NSW Community.

About the Role To support the rollout and effective implementation of the EPSS Scheme, they are currently seeking a Payroll Officer with extensive Income Protection and Workers Compensation experience to join them in Parramatta, with the flexibility to work from home.
This is an estimated 3 month temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend.
Working closely with the Claims Officers team, you will undertake high volume transactional functions including assessment and processing of income protection claims for injured workers along with the identification and correction of barriers to prompt wage reimbursements and payment reconciliation.

ResponsibilitiesDeliver professional and empathetic customer serviceProvide advice and support to eligible officers seeking workers compensation and income protection benefitsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, mitigating risksMonitor the compliance of claims against legislation to assist in recovery and timely return to workEstablish and maintain effective stakeholder relationshipsProvide expertise to management to inform income protection claim determinations, processing and other legal mattersComplete rectification of errors to minimise reimbursements and processing delaysPartner with Workers Compensation Review Officer to identify errors and omissions that are causing rejections and ensure timely processing of amendmentsPerform verification and reconciliation of wage reimbursements against invoicesComplete quality assurance through refunding and crediting invoices where payments have been duplicated or overpaidRecords and database management, ensuring high integrity, accuracy and confidentialityMaintain up to date knowledge and compliance with industrial awards, policies, best practices and legislative requirements About YouImpeccable communication skills, both verbal and writtenProfessional, resilient and empathetic mannerSuperior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlinesSolid analytical, conflict resolution and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detailProactive and self-motivated with a team player attitude RequirementsDemonstrated Payroll processing experienceProven Workers Compensation or Income Protection experienceExtensive experience in a highly transactional payroll related environmentPublic Sector experience highly advantageousStrong computer literacy and proficiency with MS office suite and SAPIntermediate Excel skillsValid Baseline security clearances & willingness to undergo pre-employment checksAbility to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment How to Apply Applications will be reviewed within 48 hours of the job posting.
