We are currently seeking a highly driven and vigilant Payroll Officer.
This position will play a critical role in managing the payroll obligations of Cricket Victoria, ensuring timely delivery and accurate reporting and analysis.
As a standalone Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll function across Cricket Victoria, forming part of our dynamic Finance team.
The Payroll Officer will conduct all employee (permanent, fixed term, and casuals) and player payroll and complete all statutory reporting i.e.
PAYG, Super, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, etc.
Key Responsibilities include: Execute end-to-end employee, player, and casual payroll processing including employee setup and termination and preparation of payroll journals into the accounting system.Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements, including alignment to applicable awards.Complete month-end and year-end processes to ensure accurate financial and statutory reporting.Complete monthly Cricket Australia Player Payment reporting for review and approval by the Head of Finance.Complete month-end payroll reporting for the Senior Leadership Team.Preparation of annual payment summaries including reportable fringe benefit amounts.Maintain integrity of payroll and payroll-related systems, including payroll-related government portals.Deliver financial and non-financial insights that add value to the business.Manage all payroll-related queries from staff, players, and casual employees.Drive systems and behavioral process improvement to create efficient and effective resource management.Liaise with Senior Management, Finance Team, and Budget Holders regarding payroll reporting and special requirements, and payroll variance analysis.About You: You are an organized, and extremely self-motivated professional with previous demonstrated experience in managing or overseeing the end-to-end payroll function within an organization.
You'll possess exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal skills, with the ability to efficiently maintain and execute payroll duties and support the overall business regarding all payroll procedures, systems, and compliance.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn, identify, and drive systems/process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience: 2 to 5 years prior experience in a Payroll Officer or equivalent position.High attention to detail and an understanding that complete confidentiality is required at all times.Current knowledge of employment legislation and processes including PAYG STP reporting, payroll tax, WorkCover, and superannuation.Thorough knowledge and understanding of all payroll-related legislation changes and communicate the impacts on the business to the management team.Proactive and responsive ability to meet deadlines and deliver results with accuracy and a sense of urgency.Solid stakeholder engagement and relationship building with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.Knowledge in analytical and insights reporting.Strong self-management practices and ability to deliver to strict timelines.Experience with Employment Hero will be highly regarded, while experience with other payroll and time & attendance systems is desired.Experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.The Benefits: We're one big collaborative team and we encourage a good work-life balance through flexible working.
