The Opportunity Join us as our new Payroll Officer in our North Sydney office, this role will be responsible for managing key Payroll activities for the VOCUS business and supporting the People & Culture team.
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Payroll Officer and have qualities which include being a well organised, proactive in nature and adaptable.
This role will also suit an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll be doing day-to-day As the Payroll Officer you will ensure the completion of all key payroll functions and procedures in an end-to-end payroll process.
Calculate and process employee entitlements, including overtime, leave, and termination payments.
Validate and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy.
Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, superannuation regulations, and other legislative requirements.
Prepare and submit end-of-month payments, including PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, etc.
Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner Provide guidance on payroll processes and company policies to employees and other stakeholders Identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist with People & Culture Administration tasks as required.
What you'll bring to this role Prior experience in a similar Payroll Officer role, with full-function payroll knowledge.
Demonstrated understanding of current payroll legislation and processes, and how to source up to date information.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy as well as excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise urgent tasks.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal A desire and willingness to learn, with strong problem-solving skills An ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and autonomously.
