Are you passionate about ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time? Join us at Orange City Council as a Payroll Officer! As a Payroll Officer, you'll play a crucial role in processing payroll data, analysing reports, and providing vital information related to employment conditions and legislation. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will ensure our staff are compensated correctly and in compliance with regulations. Key Accountabilities/Duties: Assist to ensure timely and accurate inputting of the fortnightly payroll within the pre- determined timeframes Assist in accurate processing of payroll and analysing the reports including end of year and apprentices Assist with calculation of resignation/retirement in accordance with relevant legislation and employment entitlements Assist in the calculation and payment of Superannuation and Taxation payments Provide support and verification for the calculation of all termination payments, taking into consideration the relevant awards, taxation and superannuation legislation Compile information for various government departments (Centrelink, NSW Housing and Child Support Agency etc.) A full list of responsibilities can be found in the Position Description What do you need? Certificate IV in related discipline or equivalent experience Experience in a similar role Demonstrated knowledge of computerised finance/payroll systems together with MS Office applications (particularly Excel) Knowledge of relevant industrial relations, taxation, superannuation and workers compensation legislation Ability to work to strict pre-determined timeframes and deadlines Ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal record check Why Join Orange City Council: At Orange City Council, we're committed to creating a positive work environment where employees are valued and supported.
