That's what a good human would do.Our Finance Team is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of weekly wages for our 140 hard-working team members.
This is a great opportunity for a meticulous payroll professional to bring technical expertise and ownership to our payroll function.

You will be responsible for: Processing weekly pay runs in preparation for payroll paymentsUpdating payroll records for existing employees as well as new starters and terminations through Deputy, Employment Hero and BambooHRPreparing all state and federal tax obligations - including PAYG tax, payroll tax, superannuation contributions, workers compensationProviding advice and consultation to employees/team leaders in relation to pay issues, award changes, new policiesResolving all payroll queries in a professional and timely mannerPreparing internal correspondence to reflect payroll changesPreparing payroll reporting as well as other ad hoc reports as requiredComplete End of Month payroll journals and reconciliationsYour skills and experience include: Solid experience in a full function payroll role and ideally in a retail environment.
Knowledge of the General Retail Industry Award would be ideal.A broad and comprehensive knowledge of modern awards, state legislation and the ability to interpret award legislation.Experience administering and using payroll and associated systems.
We use Deputy, Employment Hero and BambooHR.A willingness and desire to keep abreast of changes in award legislation and the ability to know where to research and go looking for information.You must be meticulous in your work with a high degree of attention to detail.You are respectful to the discretion and confidentiality required to work in payroll.Interpersonal skills that reflect your ability to naturally build rapport with your colleagues and peers.
This includes the ability to address discrepancies or issues impacting employee pay or team with the person.This is an autonomous role, supported by our Finance Manager and working closely with Team Leaders from across the business.
We are seeking an individual who is committed to a long-term, stable position with our company.
Hours are flexible for the right candidate but given our weekly pay cycle you'd need to be available Monday to Wednesday for payroll processing and reporting (3 days).
We are open to options for WFH and the possibility of remote work.
For this role, there is also the opportunity to work full-time, with an additional 2 days spent in our accounts payable department if the candidate desires.
