Payroll Officer

Local Government Opportunity Located in Melbourne's West
Casual Rate: $38 - $45 per hour
McArthur is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to work with a Local Government client in Melbourne's West.
In this role, you will contribute to a timely and accurate payroll service for Council employees in accordance with relevant legislation and agreements.
This is a casual opportunity, offering full-time hours.
The opportunity will commence on the 6th of January and end on the 4th of June.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in the delivery of the fortnightly payroll, including entry of timesheets, payment of superannuation, and other associated processes and payments.Assist the Payroll Team in the delivery of key Payroll related projects.Handle payroll enquiries in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.Display effective customer service to internal stakeholders.Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in the handling of a wide range of information and data.Why you'd be successful:Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a payroll processing position.Prior experience working in Local Government.Demonstrated experience of the payroll function, with prior experience with Authority (Civica) highly desirable.Demonstrated experience of HR programs and functions.Demonstrated experience in the operation of a variety of Microsoft Office based applications and databases.This role requires that you are fully vaccinated, have proof of working rights, and a clear National Police Check.
