We have a vacancy for a detailed oriented, motivated and highly organised professional to fill the role of payroll officer within our Finance Department.
This could be a full or part time position, including school hours so could suit a parent returning to the workforce.
Salary will be commensurate with experience for the right candidate.
This role requires prior demonstrable experience in a similar role, it is not an entry level position.Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be working on all aspects of payroll.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Fortnightly payroll processing and/or ad hoc out of cycle paysMaintenance of HR information management systemsMaintenance of payroll systems and associated processesPreparation and delivery of monthly reports and other ad hoc reports as requiredPreparation of year end reconciliations for payroll related mattersEnsuring compliance with relevant Awards, our Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) and Common Law employment agreements, as well as payroll related matters as governed by the Fair Work CommissionDevelop where required, maintain and monitor compliance with Standard Operating ProceduresOther business functions and duties as may reasonably be requiredAbout you:This is a hands-on role, and you must have the ability to work autonomously, take initiative, be flexible and have an enthusiastic approach to tasks, you will also have demonstrated ability in meeting strict deadlines and manage competing prioritiesWell-developed knowledge on the role and requirements of AwardsWell-developed knowledge on the role and requirements of an EBAWell-developed knowledge on Common Law employment agreementsExperience in a similar or relevant role is essentialHave an eye for detail and accuracyAbility to apply analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work within a team and liaise appropriately with direct managers and all employees within the businessAbility to establish and build effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders (internal and external)Well-developed communication skills, ability to express information, thoughts, and ideas in a clear and appropriate mannerExperience with Sage or similar payroll systemsEstablished knowledge and skills using computer-based office systems, including Office 365 and ExcelProven ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all mattersKeeping it above board – Eligibility criteriaYou must have existing unrestricted rights to work in Australia.You must also be eligible to obtain a Casino Employee Licence from the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission.Deal me in – Application processTo apply for this position, apply via SEEK.1.
