Payroll Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced payroll professional to join our School community.
Working as part of the Finance team, the role of the Payroll Manager is key to ensuring the timely processing and payment of staff pay and related expenses such as salary sacrifice, superannuation, and PAYG.
The role will also serve as 2IC to the Finance Manager and will report ultimately to the Director of Finance and Principal.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the College's Micropay and CONNX systems, and for processing for up to 500 employees on a fortnightly (for casuals) and monthly basis.
To be successful in this opportunity you will require: Relevant Business qualifications (preferred but not essential)Previous experience in a payroll role in a medium to large organisation (school payroll experience preferred but not essential)An understanding of relevant industrial instruments in their application to payrollStrong knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel and WordMicropay, CONNX and/or Synergetic experience (preferred but not essential)Exceptional communication skills, verbal and writtenAn organised and process-oriented approachThe ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting prioritiesDiscretion and confidentiality are essential attributes to this positionInitiative and confidence to make contributions/suggestionsCritical thinking when problem solvingOverall good interpersonal skills when working in a team environment.Current Victorian Working with Children Check.Current National Police Check.Applicants will be requested to upload: a letter of introduction addressed to the Principal; anda resume.If you have any questions regarding this opportunity, please contact the People and Culture Team via or phone 9909 9528 for a confidential discussion.
