Payroll Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced payroll professional to join our School community.
Working as part of the Finance team, the role of the Payroll Manager is key to ensuring the timely processing and payment of staff pay and related expenses such as salary sacrifice, superannuation, and PAYG. The role will also serve as 2IC to the Finance Manager and will report ultimately to the Director of Finance and Principal.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the College's Micropay and CONNX systems, and for processing for up to 500 employees on a fortnightly (for casuals) and monthly basis.
To be successful in this opportunity you will require:

Relevant Business qualifications (preferred but not essential)
Previous experience in a payroll role in a medium to large organisation (school payroll experience preferred but not essential)
An understanding of relevant industrial instruments in their application to payroll
Strong knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel and Word
Micropay, CONNX and/or Synergetic experience (preferred but not essential)
Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
An organised and process-oriented approach
The ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
Discretion and confidentiality are essential attributes to this position
Initiative and confidence to make contributions/suggestions
Critical thinking when problem solving
Overall good interpersonal skills when working in a team environment.
Current Victorian Working with Children Check.
Current National Police Check.
