About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the payroll function for a global organisation with both domestic and international operations. This key role involves ensuring efficient, compliant, and accurate payroll processing, driving improvements in payroll systems, and maintaining best practices across all payroll-related functions.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Payroll Team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing across multiple regions.Oversee payroll processes, including leave, insurance, superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, and reporting, across domestic and international operations.Drive payroll process improvements, ensuring the implementation of best practices and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, including third-party payroll providers, to ensure systems and processes meet organisational standards.Manage month-end payroll journal processing and reconcile balance sheet accounts for payroll liabilities.Work with the Tax Manager/Tax Accountant to ensure timely reporting and compliance with payroll-related tax obligations.Keep the payroll team updated on changes in payroll tax laws and regulations.Develop and implement an effective payroll review process to ensure accuracy, identify errors early, and maintain compliance.Required Skills and Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience managing payroll in a complex, global organisation.In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation, including PAYG, FBT, and payroll tax requirements.Strong leadership experience in managing and developing payroll teams, ensuring efficient and accurate payroll delivery.Experience with cloud-based payroll systems (e.g., Infinite Cloud) and managing third-party payroll providers.Strong ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices for payroll compliance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to advocate for change and build consensus within teams.Highly detail-oriented with strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organised with a strong ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to learn new skills and adapt to changes.Flexible and able to manage projects in a rapidly changing environment.Why apply?

This is a permanent / full time role based in Melbourne with an annual salary range of $135,000 to $138,000 plus superannuation.
