We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Manager for an 18 month fixed term contract to oversee our payroll function and ensure the accurate and timely payment of wages across multiple entities. This role involves leading our payroll team, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and driving process improvements. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our payroll systems and managing governance, auditing, and change processes to keep everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities End-to-End Payroll Management and Compliance:Ensure timely, accurate, and lawful payroll processing across Australia, New Zealand, and other regions as needed.Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain and optimize payroll systems.Handle annual reporting and data analysis for WGEA, payroll tax, workers' compensation, ACC, and other relevant reports.Oversee payroll budgets and month-end/year-end processes.Ensure payroll system integration with GL for accurate reporting.Governance, Change, and Audit:Lead the review, approval, and implementation of changes to payroll systems and processes in line with legislation.Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure system accuracy.Manage payroll system and legislative updates as required.Department and Team Leadership:Maintain accountability for payroll SLAs and foster a positive reputation for the payroll department.Lead team development initiatives, including training and performance management.Serve as the escalation point for complex issues or employee queries.Skills, Attributes, and Experience: You are a strategic and detail-oriented payroll professional with experience in overseeing complex payroll functions. Your strong leadership skills enable you to inspire and guide your team, while your commitment to compliance ensures that all payroll processes are accurate and aligned with current legislation. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and adept at managing changes within payroll systems.
