The Payroll Manager oversees the accounting and reporting functions associated with the payroll of EML and associated entities. The Payroll Manager also manages the duties within the payroll team and operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues and continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs and implements those initiatives. Optimise the contribution of the team through coaching, counselling and implements workable solutions to business issues/problems with minimum referral to management.
This will be a permanent, full-time position based in the Sydney  office, with flexibility to work from home.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, implement, forecast, and drive the strategic direction, performance, and sustainability of the payroll function.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll. Review of fortnightly pay and preparation of statutory and reporting requirements.
Ensure that data is managed in a timely and accurate manner across various systems (e.g. Aurion and Workday).
Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, pay increases) and system upgrades (e.g. Aurion and Workday).
Ensure compliance with internal policies, state, and national statutory compliances, wage and hour laws, and tax requirements.
Work with various internal stakeholders to handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any issues or errors promptly. Partner with the HR ops team to ensure payroll data flows seamlessly between HR Ops, Payroll, and Finance teams.
ABOUT YOU More than 5+ years demonstrated experience in a Payroll Manager or similar role, working within a fast-paced business environment.
Experience of the payroll software, Aurion.
Excellent understanding of payroll legislative requirements (awards, Payroll tax, Superannuation, PAYG and Workers Compensation).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
Exceptional communication, people and customer service skills.
