At VetPartners, we pride ourselves on delivering shared services support that drives success for our veterinary clinics. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager with an in-depth knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team and ensure seamless payroll operations across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities Governance and Compliance: Utilize your expertise in Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation to support governance, peer-review, and record-keeping requirements.Escalation Point: Handle complex payroll queries and complaints, including investigations and root-cause analyses.Complex Calculations: Perform and review complex calculations such as termination payments, long service leave (all states' legislation), workers' compensation, NZ Holiday Act, back payments, and more.Detailed Reporting: Develop and interpret detailed reports using payroll data for audits, remuneration reviews, award compliance, and other requirements.Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in partnership with the delivery team.Guidance and Support: Provide guidance, support, and resources for award and EBA interpretation to the payroll team and line managers.Reporting and Analysis: Support reporting and analysis of BAU activities, including ticketing and workflow. Skills, Attributes, and Experience: Essential: Demonstrated senior-level experience delivering compliant end-to-end payroll operations in large, distributed environments, including multiple states of Australia and New Zealand.Strong organisational and time management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and departments.Exceptional Excel and reporting/analytics skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Proactive and capable of working independently. Desirable: Experience in developing and interpreting complex payroll reports for audits and compliance.Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.Experience providing guidance and training to payroll teams and line managers on award and EBA interpretation.Familiarity with payroll software and systems used in large, distributed environments.
