This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney.
There are approximately 200 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by the end of 2026.
Overseas on-the-ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany, and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.
About the role
The Company is looking to recruit a Payroll Manager who will be a critical member of the finance function.

The position will report to the CFO and work closely with various divisions of the business.
You will be working from home 4 days per week, 1 day in the office.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations

Collaborate with the outsourced payroll vendor to process payroll for approx.
250 employees in the US and Australia Process monthly payroll, including commission and bonuses Process terminations in accordance with statutory laws Prepare and lodge accurate monthly payroll tax returns for relevant states Ensure compliance with Superannuation requirements Reconcile annual PAYG Reports to ATO's STP Prepare wage estimates and declarations for Workers Compensation Insurance Prepare payroll end-of-month reconciliations and reports Maintain and update employees' personal and payroll details Generate report on outstanding annual leave balances on a monthly basis Liaise with and resolve payroll issues/general enquiries with employees and management Document and improve payroll processes and procedures Administer timesheet system Collect and follow-up on weekly timesheets, ensuring they are submitted by the deadline Generate timesheet reports for various business units Review and approve Independent Contractor invoices Collaborate with external travel agent to review and approve employee travel Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Professional qualification in Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, or related field 5+ years of end-to-end payroll experience Familiar with interpreting Awards and payroll-related legislation Ability to work autonomously and as part of a geographically distributed team Ability to work outside of core hours on occasion Excellent written/verbal communication #J-18808-Ljbffr
