We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Payroll and Compliance Manager to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team. In this pivotal role, you'll have the opportunity to shape and lead our payroll compliance efforts, ensuring we meet the highest standards.
As part of a forward-thinking organization with over 250 employees, we need a professional who can not only ensure the seamless operation of our payroll function but also lead the governance and compliance efforts across our financial operations, particularly in statutory reporting, tax compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily payroll operations and lead the payroll team.Lead the compliance function, ensuring adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements including tax obligations, payroll legislation and SOX compliance.Provide expert guidance on escalated compliance matters, acting as the primary point of contact for government agencies and auditors. Lead governance and control initiatives, including payroll system transformations and software/system implementation and upgrades.Collaborate with Team Experience (TX), Finance, and IT departments to integrate payroll systems and ensure seamless operations.Develop and implement payroll audit protocols and maintain relationships with vendors.Mentor and support the career development of team members, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.Instill a culture of continual improvement, promoting cross-functional problem-solving and collaboration.Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes, identify opportunities for automation and stay informed of industry trends and best practices.Skills & Experience: 5+ years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a multi-award environment5+ years of experience managing statutory and regulatory compliance for all matters related to but not limited to ATO and ASIC. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldIn-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretationsProficiency in Microsoft Office or Google SuitePrevious experience with NetSuite (Infinet Cloud), Ento and Rippling is highly desirable.Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skillsWe recognise that asking you to give 100% of yourself on a daily basis requires us to offer an amazing opportunity.
