This will suit a current Senior Auditor in external audit looking to specialise or use their audit skills in a new and interesting way!You will be responsible for leading the team through payroll audits, developing audit plans, conducting thorough reviews of payroll processes, identifying potential risk and discrepancies, and implementing effective corrective actions. You will collaborate closely with high cross-functional teams to optimise payroll processes, enhance internal controls and contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of our operations.As an Audit Senior in the Payroll Team you will apply your skills from external audit to:Conduct detailed audits of payroll records to identify compliance discrepancies, errors, wage underpayments and/or potential fraudAnalyse payroll data and ensure compliance with company policies, and regulatory requirementsReview and interpret multiple Industrial Awards and EBA applicationsInvestigate and analyse payroll transactionsPrepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, recommendations and corrective actionsUnderstand the reporting requirements of different types of entitiesPrepare and review account reconciliations as appropriateLiaise with and support clientsConduct sample selections and tests of detail, extrapolation of errorsDevelop an understanding of client payroll systems.What you can offer StewartBrownThe ideal candidate will have:5 + years of external auditing experiencePayroll and/or payroll audit experience or a desire to specialise in payroll audit and complianceExperience managing jobs and job budgetsExperience supervising, supporting, and mentoring junior staffCA or CPA or equivalent qualification (strongly preferred)Working understanding of accounting, taxation, and finance concepts relating to payroll e.g.: leave entitlements, allowances, superannuation, etc.Strong knowledge of the application of Australian Accounting Standards (AASBs) and Australian Standards of Auditing (ASAs)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookA driver's license valid in Australia and ready access to a motor vehicleA work ethic that consistently demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and logical thinking in your approach to tasksAbility to build and maintain strong relationships within the client portfolio with quality, integrity, and clarity at the forefront of your approach and deliveryAn ongoing appetite and willingness to work with not-for-profit clients (previous experience with NFP is highly desirable)What StewartBrown can offer youAt StewartBrown we truly value our people.
