About the Division The People Strategy and Operations (VPS) Division is responsible for managing HR operations and providing strategic support for both corporate staff and accommodation services. It oversees corporate environments, sustainability initiatives, payroll, recruitment, policy development, workplace relations, and workforce management. Operating under a values-based framework, the division prioritizes meeting client needs and improving policies and processes to deliver on our corporate responsibilities.
It's an exciting time to join the People Services branch, which manages payroll, people operations, talent acquisition, and HR services with the goal of attracting and retaining top talent, whilst nurturing a culture of high performance and innovation. The branch is currently implementing a new innovative operating model to introduce more efficient work methods and enhance its service delivery to the business.
About the Role This opportunity sits within the People Services Branch who are embarking on an exciting period of transformation. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be a part of our future operating model design and preparing us for the future. This role will work across multiple client groups to provide operational support in a fast-paced environment. It has a primary focus of liaising and supporting internal clients with payroll services throughout the employee lifecycle and assisting with investigating and solving complex payroll issues.
Capabilities The Payroll Advisor will be flexible and adaptable with the ability to maintain quality under pressure. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential, as are effective stakeholder management and customer focus to deliver high-impact services that meet client needs.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience The successful applicant will have:
Demonstrated work experience in a Payroll operational service delivery environment.Experience using payroll systems such as Chris21, SAP, MYOB, Xero.Understanding of HR functions and best practice.A desire to learn.The ability to be responsive and enjoy working in a high-volume team environment.Strong customer service and communication focused on positive outcomes.The ability to be proactive and take responsibility in identifying and proposing workable solutions to issues.The ability to interpret and apply HR policy.Strong organisational ability with excellent written and verbal communication skills.How to Apply Applicants are required to submit a CV and a cover letter summarising their skills and experience (no more than two pages).
