Provide a highly effective payroll function across the Florey for fortnightly and monthly payroll and maintain a close relationship with the People and Culture team to ensure a smooth employee experience.The candidate will be responsible for:Action and authenticate employee variations via Greentree and FormVerseProcess end-to-end casual fortnightly payrunPrepare and process termination payments, including Long Service Leave calculationAssist with processing the monthly payrunPrepare and coordinate the monthly PAYG paymentResponsible for payroll setup of new employeesConduct payroll induction for new hiresUpdate monthly and fortnightly salary packaging deductionsFollow up on leave and timesheet submissions that require actionThis position is a permanent, part-time role (3 days a week; Working from home 2 days per week and 1 day in the office).
The role attracts an annual salary offer ranging from Professional Staff Level 5 (PS 5-1) $72,249 to Professional Staff Level 5 (PS 5-2) $73,692 commensurate with experience.Applicants who meet the criteria listed in the Position Description should submit their resume together with a cover letter no later than 15 January 2025.About you:The successful candidate will have:Entry-level payroll experience, basic payroll software skillsGreentree payroll experience highly desirableDeveloping knowledge of payroll related legislation, rules, policies, regulations, agreements (including EBA), awards and other complianceKnowledge of tax compliance and in particular salary packaging related to the Not-for-Profit sectorA strong team player with advanced customer service skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with an ability to engage with a wide range of staff and executive managementAn understanding of Human Resource principles and practicesExcellent organisational skills with the ability to review and make recommendations on process improvementExperience in a customer service environmentExperience with the below is desirable, but not essential:Development of payroll reports via various software packagesExperience in a research or Not-for-Profit settingGreentree payroll software experienceWhat we offer:Working at the Florey offers you the chance to work with a dedicated group of researchers within a culture that focuses on equity, diversity and collaboration.
