About the Role As the Payroll and Accounts Officer, you will have a diverse accounts executive role and be responsible for processing payroll, remitting payroll taxes and government reporting as well as preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports. The role will ensure compliance with government legislations, establishing and implementing payroll administration policy and procedure.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: Ensuring all weekly pay run transactions are processed, reviewed, and remitted efficiently.Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a large employee base, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulationsMaintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes to employment detailsProcess salary payments, allowances, deductions, and bonuses accurately and in a timely mannerHandle payroll queries and provide prompt and effective resolutionCollaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure smooth coordination of payroll-related activitiesReconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll reports for management reviewStay updated on payroll legislation and industry best practices to ensure compliance and recommend process improvementsMaintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive payroll informationAssisting in automation of the Timesheet interpretation process through MYOB.Skills and experience: Previous experience as a Payroll Officer, preferably in a senior roleProficient in using MYOB payroll softwareSound knowledge of payroll timebilling processing, taxation, and relevant employment legislation & modern award interpretation.Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical and analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to handle multiple payroll tasks efficiently and meet strict deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees, managers, and external stakeholdersHigh level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive informationStrong problem-solving skills and ability to identify process improvementsCertification or formal qualifications in Payroll or Accounting will be highly regardedTo succeed in this role, you will be positive, proactive, flexible, resilient and highly focused. You are able to work mostly autonomously, but still be an integral part of team.
