Payroll Administrator (Contractor Pay) About Us: Compas Pty Ltd is a Canberra-based, wholly Australian-owned recruitment and services company that has been operating since 1987.
We specialise in the provision of permanent, contract, and temporary recruitment services, as well as specialised consulting assignments.
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional services to our clients and are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team and manage contractor payroll processes.
Job Description:   As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for processing and managing payroll for our contractors.
Your role will ensure accurate and timely payment, compliance with tax laws, and maintenance of payroll records.
You will work closely with the Company Director to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities: Process and calculate contractor payments, including wages and deductions.
Maintain and update payroll records and databases including processing new contracts and terminations.
Ensure compliance with tax laws and employment regulations.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and queries efficiently.
Prepare monthly invoicing of clients for work completed by contractors, including remittances and aged receivables.
Reconcile billing hours with payroll hours monthly and resolve discrepancies.
Generate payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of payroll processes and tax regulations in Australia.
Proficiency in payroll software systems as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and deadline focused.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience with Federal Government contracts advantageous.
