Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced Senior SAS/Teradata Developer to join their Canberra team. This is a 12-month contract with up to a 24-month extension option. This role is open for Australian citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline Clearance.12-month contract with 24 months extension option.Canberra based roleHybrid (3 days from office and 2 days WFH).Paxus pays weekly.As a Senior SAS/Teradata Developer, you will have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers. You will be responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by your team.This role requires experienced SAS programmers who can develop and deliver complex reporting solutions sourced from data stored in Teradata EDW environments and delivered using SAS Enterprise Guide and/or SAS Information Delivery Portal.To be successful in this role, you must:Develop reporting solutions using SAS programming code, SAS Enterprise Guide, and SAS Information Delivery Portal. Write/explain technical systems, problems, and outcomes using unambiguous language to non-technical staff.Have a strong focus on data integrity between source and destination systems. Analyse and evaluate complex business processes and requirements.To be considered for this role, you must:Provide advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards. Tailor processes in line with agreed standards and evaluate methods and tools. Review and improve usage and application of methods and tools.Design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and refactor complex programs/scripts and integration software services. Contribute to the selection of the software development methods, tools, and techniques. Apply agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes. Participate in reviews of your work and lead reviews of colleagues' work.Assess and analyse release components for input to release scheduling. Maintain and administer tools and methods for software delivery, deployment, and configuration. Maintain release processes and procedures.Design, verify, document, amend, and refactor complex software configurations for deployment. Contribute to the selection of the software configuration methods, tools, and techniques. Apply agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes. Participate in reviews of your work and lead reviews of colleagues' work.Undertake the complete design of moderately complex software applications or components. Apply agreed standards, guidelines, patterns, and tools. Assist as part of a team in the design of components of larger software systems. Specify user and/or system interfaces. Create multiple design views to address the different stakeholders' concerns and to handle functional and non-functional requirements. Assist in the evaluation of options and trade-offs. Collaborate in reviews of work with others as appropriate.Design system components using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed architectures, design standards, patterns, and methodology. Identify and evaluate alternative design options and trade-offs. Create multiple design views to address the concerns of different stakeholders and to handle functional and non-functional requirements. Model, simulate, or prototype the behaviour of proposed system components to enable approval by stakeholders. Produce detailed design specifications to form the basis for the construction of systems. Review, verify, and improve your designs against specifications.Design test cases and test scripts under your own direction, mapping back to pre-determined criteria, recording and reporting test outcomes. Participate in requirement, design, and specification reviews, and use this information to design test plans and test conditions. Apply agreed standards to specify and perform manual and automated testing. Automate testing tasks and build test coverage through existing or new infrastructure.
