The Position
We are seeking compassionate and hardworking Patient Support Assistants (PSAs) to work closely with our Registered Nurses and support staff in providing the highest standard of healthcare to our patients.
The PSA provides assistance to the patient, under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, with regards to the patient's hygiene-related needs, daily living activities and mobility requirements.
As the PSA you enhance patient safety through the provision of care to patients who may be suffering from cognitive impairment, exhibit challenging behaviour, and/or may be at risk of falls.
An essential part of this role is the ability to carry out physically demanding duties such as assisting with patient showering and mobility needs such as pushing wheelchairs.
To be successful, you must have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Key Selection Criteria
Certificate III in Health Services Assistant or a similar qualification (highly desirable) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, share information and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary health team is essential Previous experience working in a similar role within a health care or hospital environment advantageous Previous experience in assisting patients with disability and cognitive impairment highly desirable Experience in the management of activities of daily living within an aged care setting highly desirable Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, compliance with Infection Control guidelines and practices advantageous How to Apply
