About the Ward Ward 8 South is a 24-bed Specialist Palliative care ward. Patients admitted to the ward have life limiting illnesses, and are generally admitted for symptom management, complex discharge planning and/or end of life care. The team is committed to promoting the highest levels of palliative care support for our patients and families. In realizing this goal, we lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centered evidence-based practice.
About the Role As a PSA on Ward 8 South, you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, who are passionate about providing best practice for patients. On a regular day as a PSA, you will perform a wide range of tasks which include:
Participation in food servicesCleaning of patient and staff areasPatient movement around the ward and across the hospitalRestocking of imprest items and stock distributionThe successful position holder is expected to participate annually in the Austin Health Performance Appraisal Program and mandatory training programs.
