About Ward 7 West Ward 7 West is a 32 bed acute medical ward belonging to the Division of Medical Services.
Our ward prides itself on quality patient care delivery to our complex medical patients and our commitment to the retention and professional development of our dynamic staff.
We treat patients admitted under the General Medical and H&M (Hematemesis and Malaena) bed cards.
About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Services Assistant to join our team at Austin Health on a fixed-term, part-time basis until the 12th of April 2026.
The role reports to the Nurse Unit Manager of Ward 7 West and works with the team to support clinical care on the ward.
The position will be required to work from 12:30-21:00 on Monday and Tuesdays and may be job shared.
A regular day will see you:
Changing of water jugsRoutine and periodical cleaning tasksUnder the supervision of nursing staff, assist with patient movement and handling in accordance with the "movesmart" systemRemoval of soiled linen and infectious wasteAbout you You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
