Demonstrated qualifications in career counselling or career education, such as a Graduate Certificate in Career Development, with a strong understanding of career development theories, including the use of the Australian Blueprint for Career Development.
Experience in administering and interpreting Morrisby testing and other career assessment tools.
Pathway Planning and Counselling:

Proven ability to provide comprehensive career counselling to students, particularly in guiding Year 12 students through VTAC applications and future educational and career pathways.
Experience in conducting group interviews and working collaboratively with Leading Teachers (Curriculum) to support course counselling for Year 9-11 students.
Work Experience and VET Program Management:

Experience in coordinating work experience programs, including liaising with employers, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and preparing students for placements.
Demonstrated success in managing Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs, including coordinating with external providers, enrolling students, and tracking their progress.
University and Further Education Applications:

Strong experience in supporting students with domestic and international university applications, including providing guidance on application processes, assisting with document preparation, and conducting workshops for students and parents.
Communication, Collaboration, and Event Management:

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and external partners.
Experience in organizing and managing career-related events, such as career fairs, industry tours, and guest speaker sessions.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with industry partners, universities, and training providers.

Role

The Careers and Pathways Leader is responsible for guiding students through their career development, educational pathways, and transition into further education or the workforce.
This role involves conducting pathway planning interviews, administering Morrisby testing and counselling, managing the work experience program, assisting with university applications (both domestic and international), and overseeing the Vocational Education and Training (VET) program.
Qualifications:

Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in career counselling or career education - Graduate Certificate in Career Development.
Sound knowledge in the use of the Australian Blueprint of Careers, and its use in developing career lessons.
Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
Strong understanding of career development theories, Morrisby testing, and vocational education.
Experience in managing work experience programs at a secondary school level.
Experience in supporting students with domestic, interstate and international university applications.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, staff, and external partners.
Proficiency in using career assessment tools and educational software.
Experience in coordinating and managing career events, expos and excursions.
Knowledge of current trends in employment and industry needs.

Responsibilities

Pathway Planning and Counselling: Provide one-on-one counselling to Year 12 students in making informed decisions about VTAC applications and future educational and career paths.
Conduct group interviews at all year levels to support students in identifying their career interests and Year 13 planning.
Support Leading Teachers (Curriculum) with course counselling interviews for Year 9-11 students.

Morrisby Testing: Manage the Morrisby Aptitude Testing for Year 9.
Liaise with the DET (My Career Insights) to develop the role out of both testing and interview schedule.
Administer and interpret Morrisby Profiling assessments to help students understand their aptitudes, interests, and career options.
Provide information sessions for parents and students to explain the Morrisby testing process and reporting.

Work Experience Program Management: Implement the DET Work Experience Policy and ensure compliance with legislation.
Coordinate and manage the work experience program.
Support students in securing placements and preparing for interviews.
Monitor and evaluate the work experience placements.

University and Further Education Applications: Provide guidance and support to students in preparing and submitting applications for universities.
Assist with the preparation of application documents and portfolios.
Facilitate workshops on university application processes.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) Coordination: Oversee the implementation and administration of the VET program.
Coordinate with external VET providers and industry partners.
Track student progress and outcomes in VET programs.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students' career planning.
Organise and facilitate career fairs and industry tours.

Administrative and Reporting Duties: Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
Prepare reports for school leadership on the effectiveness of career programs.
Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
