In the Hervey Bay Laboratory you will predominantly work 08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday.
When rostered in the Maryborough Hub the shift will predominantly be 09:15 to 17:15.Previous experience in a laboratory, healthcare or medical setting is desirable, but not essential – comprehensive training is provided.Key Responsibilities:Positively matching request forms with specimens; request forms and specimens with the computer database.Performing accurate and efficient registration of specimens and requests.Presenting correctly labelled specimens to relevant departments for processing.Packing specimens for transport to the Hervey Bay and/or Bowen Hills laboratories.Communicating ad hoc specimen pick-up jobs to couriers.Responding to phone enquiries and transferring calls to appropriate department, collection centre or laboratory.The role requires an enthusiastic attitude and an employment history that shows initiative, attention to detail and a proven ability to work in a busy environment.
