Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. Position description We are seeking enthusiastic Pathology Collectors to join our vibrant Patient Services Team. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:
Collecting blood and non-blood samples from patients including conducting basic tests such as ECG and Holter MonitoringFollowing strict guidelines and procedures to ensure all samples are accurately labelledGuiding patients or caregivers on sampling proceduresPreparing specimens for transportation to the laboratoryIdeal candidate We offer a comprehensive training program suitable for medical/health science students wishing to gain valuable experience in a clinical environment whilst studying. You will learn high quality patient care and valuable clinical skills in a fast paced, flexible working environment.
Our ideal candidate:
Is open to working part time hours on a scheduled roster Monday to Sunday between 7am to 7pm including weekend roster.Is passionate about healthcare and committed to providing excellent care and service to patients and doctorsA hard-working, motivated individual with a strong work ethicTeam player with the ability to work unsupervisedExcellent written and oral communication skillsHigh level attention to detail and record keeping skills.Prior to commencement, all candidates must provide documentary evidence of the following:
Unrestricted working rights in AustraliaCommitment to annual influenza vaccination.A National Police Check, Working with Children clearance and First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) will be required prior to commencement.
Please note, our program requires a non-negotiable minimum 25 hour per week commitment.
